Animals besieged my dreams, a lion, lamb and dragon bee. They appeared in my nightly adventures to understand their plight in our modern world. Here I was being asked to speak on their behalf, I thought it a little odd as I'm not really vocal on many things.

Here is the Last of the Wilberness.

£10 of the sale price will be donated to World Land Trust, where Sir David Attenborough is Patron. The money will be used to protect natural habitat so the animals can still share this wonderful Earth.

So far we have raised enough money to protect 5 acres of the Amazon Rainforest.

What I love about painting is discovering it's all in the moment, as life is. Responding to materials at hand. Responding to how the paints interact. Mark-making and using found objects. Even though we have a great art studio, I find myself painting in the kitchen, as I have done for many years now. So here I find that I have no heat gun to melt the embossing powder, so the canvas goes in the oven to bake a bit. Perfect alternative!

It was surprising as the pear emerged and the magenta ink mingled with the emulsion that it made marks which resembled, almost identical, to the tissue experiment I did in the science lab over ten years ago. How very interesting. So here are two images from the research I carried out investigating water channels in bovine cartilage.

Original funky [ink & watercolour] sketch. Unique, colourful and quite out-of-this world!

I have wanted to do a series of new illustrations for some time, and finally here is the beginning of the collection. Tutti Fruity is an eclectic mix of things - ancient and modern. It brings together elements which I just love: Scratch and inky illustrations [lucky for me, as I can't help but draw this way, neat and tidy it never is!]. The piece also brings together the love of graffiti art but in my own digital form without the vandalism! And of course: Pears! Pears I just seem to love, cannot explain why, they featured quite a bit in my earlier art work. But had gone underground until now. And I am so glad that they are back, for no matter how much I try to deny them in my art they appear, no matter how I try to do 'proper' more structured still life, it is always things like Pears, Cleudo Flowers and illustrations from my imagination which really get things going for me. Perhaps it is the organic shape and the endless exploration which is the fascination. Anyhow, now that I have started, I will in the following months bring together a Tutti Fruity Collection, I hope to introduce my other fascination: Cleudo Flowers, but this time I think I have found a new way: to combine all the things which I love both in subject matter and in technique, then a new fusion seems to emerge. And I am once again a happy B!
